books I read in 2023, and my personal ratings of each.

Let's start with the obvious; it's been forever since I've blogged, mostly because life has been a whirlwind these past several months. I started a new full-time day job, bought a house and moved, had a stint in the hospital, and have been kept busy with my photography business and general everyday life. But I'm back to the writing grind and ready to play catch-up! So allow me to pick up where we left off last year and share about the rest of my 2023 Reading Challenge.

I had shamefully and regrettably fallen out of my addictive reading habits from adolescence as things like work, education, and marriage took over more and more in adulthood, and in January of 2023, I decided that enough was enough. I was getting my Bookish Bean Self back.

In 2022, I read 2, maybe 4 books. In 2023, my goal was to read a total of 24, an average of 2 books a month. I was SO happy to have hit that goal by June! Reading brings so much joy, enlightenment, empathy, and fascination to my life. Books are SO enriching for my mind, my soul, and my own artistic passions, and it feels so good to be back in the habit of reading ALL THE TIME! I am proud to say I read a total of 55 books in 2023!!

I already shared the 26 books I read (or listened to on audio) from January to July of 2023 in a previous blog post, so without further ado...
