A little backstory for just a sec...

Growing up, I inhaled books. I read multiple books a week, sometimes a day. As I grew into adulthood and started working in addition to attending college, I read less and less, aside from things listed on my syllabi. It got to the point where last year I only read 2 books for fun.

OH. THE. SHAME.

The minute I realized this, I realized how much I wanted to get this part of myself back, and I set a goal for 2023: read a minimum of 2 books per month. I knew the main reason I stopped reading so much was simply the busy nature of my life, but I finally have some stability to be able to balance things a little better, which means more time for reading again! I figured that 2 books a month was going easy on myself, so I could ease back into my bookworm lifestyle, but still come a long way from last year and actually be able to achieve the goal.

Well, I'm proud to say that I've surpassed my goal and found my way back to the Bookish Bean I once was. From January 1 to July 30 this year, I read 26 books!

Here are those 26 book titles, authors, genres, and my personal rating of each:

I buy a lot of books, and a lot are borrowed from my library or Libby app (which anyone with a library card can use for free!), and there is plenty of book swapping between me and my friends. Not to mention the TBR - to be read - lists and piles never stop growing!

My new goal is to just continue reading as much and often as I can from now on and to keep the blog up to date with my Finished Reading lists! Now the real questions are... How many books do you think I'll have finished by the end of 2023? And... Which titles do you want to see thorough reviews of?? Let me know in the comments.

Til next time.
